Exploring No-Kill

https://bestfriends.org/stories/julie-castle-blog/no-kill-shelters-are-now-norm   This article is by Best Friends, committed to making all shelters “No Kill’   After the Gov. made May ‘No Kill’ day in WV we felt deeper scrutiny was warranted. https://www.animalhumanesociety.org/news/what-does-it-mean-be-no-kill     Here is an article by a large humane group in MN who could be described as ‘No Kill’ using the 90% rule for placement but present a different approach ensuring none are turned away.

We posted both of these articles to explore this topic. The irony of posting about a shelter being too full and having to kill dogs housed there juxtaposed with a post from the Gov. wanting our state to be No-Kill needed to be addressed. It is such a heart wreching topic to consider but as advocates we must meet it head-on.
