As a former librarian, I often chose a dog or cat book to read to my students. It was difficult to find one that delivered the message I wanted. Here are a few I used and if you have others, please offer a suggestion to us here. We must teach our children the kindness we want them to display with their interaction with our furry friends. I found these on Amazon but they may be elsewhere too.

There used to be a lot of resource material available from national animal welfare groups but those materials do not seem to be available now. However, there are a lot of materials online which we have assembled here. Just be careful to use only those materials for educational purposes and do not violate any copyright laws. As a former librarian, this is good advice for you using any online material.
